Franklin College
Hosting Indianapolis Colts
Mini-Camp Practice on June 6

Franklin College will host an Indianapolis Colts full-squad mini-camp practice on June 6, the National Football League organization announced in a press conference at its headquarters in Indianapolis today.

The event will be approximately from 2:45 to 4:45 p.m. at Stewart “Red” Faught Stadium on the college’s campus.

Franklin College’s opportunity to host the Colts’ first appearance in Franklin originated from a conversation between Colts President Bill Polian and Susan Williams, Franklin College Class of ’67 and Trustee, who is President of the Indiana Sports Corporation. The session at Franklin College – part of a three-day mini-camp that includes veterans, rookies and first-year players – will mark only the second time the Colts club has conducted a mini-camp practice away from Indianapolis.

Dr. James G. Moseley, Franklin College President, who participated in today’s press conference at the Colts’ complex, is delighted the Colts will hold such an event on campus and enhance the college’s celebration of its 175th birthday during the weekend.

“Franklin College is grateful to Mr. Irsay and Mr. Polian and the entire Colts organization for this wonderful opportunity for fans to see one of the NFL’s most popular and successful teams on our beautiful campus, just 20 miles south of Indianapolis,” said Moseley. “We’re proud of how perfectly the values that characterize the Colts both on and off the field line up with ways Franklin College prepares graduates for lives of excellence, leadership, and service.”

The Franklin College Grizzlies had their best season ever last year, advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III football championship playoffs. Franklin College Director of Athletics Kerry Prather is pleased with the college’s opportunity to host the Colts, as they prepare for the 2009 season, as well.

“We are excited to host Colts fans on our campus and provide them with an up-close preview of the 2009 team and a chance to interact with the players,” Prather said today. “This will be a great opportunity for many people who may not be able to attend games in Lucas Oil Stadium to enjoy the Colts in action. We are especially excited to partner with a first-class organization which consistently looks for opportunities to give back to its fans.”

Prior to the practice, the team will offer a brief autograph session around the perimeter of the football field. Cost of admission will be $10 per person. Information on advance tickets for the event will be available next week.
